Saturday 22th June
It was such a beautiful day that we decided (I think that’s might be Mums royal “we”) that the dogs
would love a good walk. We like to take them down the kopureoreo path as the path follows the
river and you never know what you might see. One day we got a fright by a man getting out of the
river beside us. He seemed nice enough in the end.
At the moment the fantails are down from the bush trying to catch bugs. I love the way they flit
about. They are such friendly birds. We walked along and came to our bridge. Well technically it is
not “ours”, but we like to think it is. We get really angry when people graffiti on it. We like to stand
for a while and rest while we watch the water flow under the bridge. Then it’s time to see if we can
walk back without the dogs jumping in the stream and getting all muddy and filthy. We had a lucky escape with that!!
Saturday 29th June
Two Saturdays in a row with fine weather!!! It was all too much so off we go for our walk with the
dogs. They can’t get over the excitement. I have been having really sore knees and legs as I am growing again. It made this walk not so much fun. It is so disappointing because it means you don’t get to enjoy the sunshine and the water, and the birds etc. We still managed to get to our bridge and had a nice long sit in the sun while my legs rested. We had leaf races from one side of the bridge to the other. Then I endured the walk home. I hope my legs stop growing soon.
On a positive note – the dogs were really happy!
