ICAS
I have done my ICAS test. It was for computers. I can't remember my score because I thought I had blogged it but I hadn't. The two other ICAS tests that i'm doing are in term two but mum says close enough.
Two walks
Saturday 22th June
It was such a beautiful day that we decided (I think that’s might be Mums royal “we”) that the dogs
would love a good walk. We like to take them down the kopureoreo path as the path follows the
river and you never know what you might see. One day we got a fright by a man getting out of the
river beside us. He seemed nice enough in the end.
At the moment the fantails are down from the bush trying to catch bugs. I love the way they flit
about. They are such friendly birds. We walked along and came to our bridge. Well technically it is
not “ours”, but we like to think it is. We get really angry when people graffiti on it. We like to stand
for a while and rest while we watch the water flow under the bridge. Then it’s time to see if we can
walk back without the dogs jumping in the stream and getting all muddy and filthy. We had a lucky escape with that!!
Saturday 29th June
Two Saturdays in a row with fine weather!!! It was all too much so off we go for our walk with the
dogs. They can’t get over the excitement. I have been having really sore knees and legs as I am growing again. It made this walk not so much fun. It is so disappointing because it means you don’t get to enjoy the sunshine and the water, and the birds etc. We still managed to get to our bridge and had a nice long sit in the sun while my legs rested. We had leaf races from one side of the bridge to the other. Then I endured the walk home. I hope my legs stop growing soon.
On a positive note – the dogs were really happy!

Recycled art (E1)
I did recycled art. They are koi fish. The body of the koi is the side of a one litre light proof milk bottle. The coloured scales are bottle tops. Thanks to my mum for cutting those out, they are really tough. The fins, scales, tail and flower are made of dine & desire cat food tins. Thanks to my mum again for the flower. My dad did the white lines. The lilly pad is a bottle top. This is my art work. I hope you like it.
Bad product.
Once upon a time I got a really cool YoYo. When you YoYo'd it, it would flash. It did in the shop. But once I got it home, YoYo it twice and it breaks. I returned it like five times! In the end we just said "Nup, just give us a refund." I can't remember if we did get a refund, we may of just had to keep the stupid thing.

Science Fair
My science fair. I did my science fair about the urban myth about hamburgers not rotting. The myth is true, so now not a myth. As my theory concludes they dry out. The ones left out in the open didn't grow mold apart from on the bottom because they were on a paper towel. The ones in grease proof paper didn't really rot apart from the homemade ones. The ones in ziplock bags looked like they were breathing. The grew LOTS of mold.

CAPTCHA codes are words that you generally have to fill in before you submit a comment. This is to translate old books that are written in hard to read hand writing. It also stops computer systems spamming blogs etc... In homestuck, a web comic I read the have cards called capthchalog cards. These cards hold things so you can hold a lot of stuff. These cards also have Captcha codes. See picture.

Cross Country
Yesterday was Cross Country. First up was the year seven girls, then the year seven boys. Then it was us. We took some time to warm up. We were at the starting line I tried to will myself to run. The whistle blew. Although I didn't hear it everyone else did. We ran. I tried to run but I couldn't for some reason. I could run but slowly, it was like a torture, a gruelling torture, stuck in slow motion when I knew I could run faster. I came in 226th.

Saxophone
I have been learning to play the saxophone since term 1 this year. I choose saxophone because I really like the band Madness and their saxophonist flys around all the time for no apparent reason. My teacher, Mrs Alexander, is awesome. She is so leased with my progress she has suggested that I sit an exam at the end of the year. I think I would like to because I really enjoy playing saxophone and I would like to take it further.
Polly
Please let me present to you, Polly the cat. Polly is our SPCA cat. We got her 5 years ago. When we got her she was tiny and used to sleep on Dads head. For a little cat she could purr like a tractor, she is know a hefty cat. While she is still small she is heaver than most cats we know. I think she must be made of a substance denser that anything known to man kind. I think this is because she is all muscle and muscle is heaver than fat. Here is a photo of her relaxing after a hectic cat day.

40 Hour Famine
I did the 40 Hour Famine. It was hard this year because I was growing. Last year I had no problem doing it and wasn't hungry but this year I was. Thats really all that happened. I did what I usually do apart from eating.
A computer game.
I've played lots of computer games from the just weird, to the AWESOME! I'm going to tell you about 'Happy Wheels.' Happy Wheels is an awesome game, where people create levels, and you play them. There is a lot of blood, but for some levels thats the point.... There are lots of levels. Some easy some not quite so. To move you use the arrow keys with up being forward & down being back. To eject your character press 'Z' This game is really fun. You can turn off the blood etc... in settings.

SPCA
Saturday was SPCA day. Not many volunteers turned up. Luckily there are not that many cats and
kittens up for adoption at the moment. My little “six toes” was in the adoption room. She was a
bit scared, but got a lot better after I spent some time playing with her. I tried to convince Mum we
should take this one home. But she said No! It was sooo unfair! After cleaning and feeding everyone in adoption, we did the same for the animals in the hospital. There was a lovely big black cat with and enormous round head. He was lovely and purry, and bigger than some dogs I know. There was a wee grey kitten that decided Mum needed her face washed. He was only little, but a real rascal. Mum took a shine to him, but I had to say “Rules are Rules”. It was my turn to be mean.

Le library. (A8)
I had a real surprise when I visited the town library today. There was story telling time for preschoolers from 10:30 to 12:30. What a great idea on a winter day. It is really important to read to children. There have been articles in The Herald lately about this fact. I loved being read stories when I was small. Now I love reading even more. My Dad even wrote me my very own story and illustrated it as well. It was my favorite book for a long time. Books are cool.

Field days.
On Wednesday the 12
Hamilton. My Mum had been given free tickets from the bank. We all had to pray for no rain.
Somehow our prayers were answered!! We had been all prepared with gumboots and umbrellas –
but the day was sunny and warm.
We wondered around some of the stalls and bought fresh donuts for breakfast. Then we noticed a
tractor pull competition. While we ate our donuts we watched tractors trying to pull tractors. One
tractor in particular really put on a show. There was black smoke billowing and he did wheel stands
most of the way down the course. After that, the others seemed a bit boring.
We couldn’t believe how many stalls there were. They went on and on and on. Different kinds of
cowsheds, different machines to clean cow sheds, to cooking utensils and clothes. We could have
bought three alpacas for $600.00. Dad wouldn’t let us because he didn’t know where to put Danny,
Jeremy and Bruce. He did mention Llama sausages, so perhaps it’s a good thing we didn’t bring
them home.
I bought myself a tiger hat, some crystals, a poking stick (very useful and may need it in class) and
some other cool stuff.
Later in the day we watched an exhibition of wood chopping and chain sawing. The men who did
that were amaxing. They were strong and fast. One man chopped a log in half in 13 blows!!! We
also appeared on the TV One News in the crowd watching. I’m officially a star.
After the wood chopping we watched a digger driver use his bucket to pick up a beer bottle and pour
it into a tiny wine glass. The driver had beads of sweat on his forehead as he concentrated so hard.
We were all so tired by 3 o’clock we headed home – but not before we bought a potato on a stick!!
Something I would highly recommend everyone should do. It was the perfect end to a fabulous
day. June my family and I went to the National Field Days at Mystery Creek.

My Dad & Mum, or Mum & Dad?
My Mum is an accountant so she does math all day. Her job looks cool. My Mum can also draw AWESOMELY but she doesn't think so.
My Dad scribbles on people for a living. He's a tattooist. To get a tattoo you have to be 16 or over without prenatal consent. My Dad thinks this is still to young. He does heaps of tattoos. He's a really good drawer. He works with Melissa. It's $125 per hour.
My Dad works at GRAVITY TATTOOS.

Catzaraono
I created a language call catzaraono. I was drawing random s hapes using a stencil, and I suddenly decided that
should be J I then continued drawing shapes and deciding what they should be.So the language was created. You may wonder where the capitals are but I just made it so you either underline it or over line it, putting the line on the top of the letters. There is an extra letter for names only. My name is Catherine it would replace both E's with an ee sound. This letter's use is for names only. I did the alphabet backwards to make the sounds, so J sounds like Z & so on. But U still equals U because it just pans out like that. Every thing is still spelt the same. On the computer you can use the sounds to speak in Catzaraono. Nwal puy slwjyhyr. (Have fun learning.) Mll fxu swolj. (See you later.)

What I did on the weekend.
Last night (Sunday the 17, of June, 2013) My Mum, Dad & I went to a Tai restaurant. It was lovely. I had a starter of grilled tiger prawns on skewers with pineapple, onion & caspian with a mild chilli sauce. At times it tasted lemony, it was delicious.
Mum & Dad sheared their appetiser. It was a mix of the first 5 starters. Their was one piece from each one.
Then for the main I had squid with two sauces. The sauces were really nice, I liked the red one more than the clear one. It tasted so good. Mum had a beef stew thing and Dad had a stir fried rice.
For desert I had coconut thing with ice cream. The coconut thing was gelatine like and came in three little bowls about the size of my palm at the top of the bowl. Dad had deep fried banana with ice cream. The ice cream was Go Go Banana one of my favourite types.

A Saying or idiom.
Like herding cats.
This means like trying to control anything that is chaotic or uncontrollable.
I've been at SPCA and herding cats is really hard. It's like if a group of people are hard to control you can tell them that there like herding cats.
My Mum said dealing with doctors is like herding cats.
Close but no cigar.
This means nearly achieving a goal but falling short.
My Mum says this to me when I ask for something, even if I say pleeeeaseeee.
An oxymoron is a sentence that contradicts itself, like 'agree to disagree'. Another one is absolutely unsure.

Dialogue - With friends in the play ground.
"Meow." I said quietly when I sat down and opened up my lunch box, Gunter.
I was sitting next to two of my friends. I looked to the classroom to see Maia walking towards us.
"Yo dude." I said to her.
"Sup" Maia replied.
Tyla pointed to the sky.
"Damn you and your realism." Maia stated.
And suddenly a wild Gunter appeared. "Wenk." He then sat on Maia's shoulder.
Maia hit him, "Bad Gunter, Bad."
"What even is it's name?" Tyla asked.
I replied with, "IDK, Gunter or Sir Cornelius Bazinger." I looked at the Kiwilinguinow. A mixed species, I couldn't decide if it was an owl or a kiwi, and we just threw in a penguin for good measure.
I threw it at Maia's face. Maia hit it and kept hitting it, and then threw it and I chased after it.

The Lone Rock,
As the Lone Rock ran away calling on the wind to help, he looked back at his village of running rocks. Running rocks had a long history with the elementals. The elementals were sprits of pure elements, never taking true form. There were few who were worthy to commune with the elements. The Lone Rock yearned to be with the elemental rocks, but he could not be one with the elementals as he was a boy and only the girl rocks could become one with the elements. So the Eon, The Lone Rock as he now called him self, ran as if there were no tomorrow. Suddenly, before Eon's eyes the ground cracked open and the earth element rose up, deciding to Shift his brown glowing orb like form that the elementals stay in most, to a towering dragon, scales of earth and clay, from the reddest clay to the brownest of mud.

Laptop chargers.
Charging laptops at school.
• What are the negatives of Rimu students charging their laptops at school?
• It costs lots of monetary wealth.
• There are cords every where.
• Every one will end up with chargers.
• People will be lazy and not charge their laptops at home.
• What are 2 of the suggestions for solving the problems?
•That you can only charge your laptop in the afternoon.
•Go to the teacher and say what percent your laptop is on and if you can charge your laptop.
• What is my opinion about this?
Well Where does the $100 fee go to? Not every one (129 students) is going to be charging their laptops all day so the estimate of $40,000 is way off. Some people's batteries don't last all day. At this rate half of the students in the computer class will be working on paper half the time. Also the teachers are allowed to charge their laptops so why don't they charge them at night. I say I we can't charge our laptops and have to work on paper then nether should the teachers, because they won't have a computer class to teach.

My weekend.
I did the 40 hour famine. It was harder this time because I'm growing. Last time I wasn't hungry at all. I did no food, no cellphone & not social media. No cellphone and no social media was easy because I don't usually go on my cellphone My Mum, my Dad & I watched the rugby. It was really annoying because both teams kept dropping the ball, and passing forward. There were heaps of knock on's. My Dad said that at half time someone payed the referee to make the french team win. It got boring when they kept having scrums and not doing it right. I think that our team needs to train a bit more, especially if the teams are going to get harder from now on. It was a very messy game and the All Blacks kept making dumb passes. We need a better team if we want to win the next game, we only just won this game.

I wonder why?
1. I wonder why I haven't been wondering about anything lately? Because usually I wonder about lots of stuff.
A: Well if I don't know then I guess we will never know.
I wonder if bacterium survive in space?
A: Yes they do. They survie in space and have been tested to do so for 1 1/2 years.
I wonder how life got onto earth? Because how did air and plant matter survive and grow?
I wonder why the human hasn't evolved to remove the appendix as it has no use now, as it's original purpose was in birds to lay eggs?
I wonder if there is another planet that is capable of life?
I wonder if there is another planet that is capable of life if they would have evolved like us and think that were aliens and having this question right now, like an alternate universe?

The Graveyard...
Last week room 42 went to the 17th Ave Cemetery. We got into buddies, I was with Maia. We had to come up with a question, our question was in a particular area how many deceased were in the raised or concreted graves. Here are our results so far,
un | 1
1 | 2
2 | 2
3 | 0
4 | 1
5 | 0
6 | 0
7 | 1
Key: un: unreadable
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 amount of deceased in grave.
It was really surprising so far because the grave with 7 deceased in it was only the length and width of a single grave, it was really sad because it was 2 adults and 3 babies I didn't see the age of the other 2. One of the babies was called kitty.
