Yatton park homework challenge P6
On Saturday we took the dogs for a long walk on the Yatton park walkway. The walk takes you through the park then down to the water then up through some bush and you exit near Esk street. It's a really nice walk. our dog Bonnie couldn't restist the water and launched herself into it. There is only one problem with this, well actually two. One is a very wet dog to take home in the car. The second is that she always has to go to the toilet after she has gotten wet! There are no rubbish bins down by the water. I made Mum carry it (in a plastic bag) to the car.
SPCA Homework challenge S5
On Saturday the 23rd Mum and I went to the SPCA to volunteer. We got to clean out the cat cages in three rooms. The green or red room, the recovery room & the Hospital. The green or red room is the quarantine area where new cats come and stay for seven days before the can be put with the general population. We had to say if any cats were sneezing or looking poorly. The SPCA has protocols to avoid cross contamination. They were really cute. I got the job of getting them out of their cages and getting new kitty-litter & food. Mum got the job of cleaning out the old litter-boxes because I love her so. There were heaps of cats. I held some instead of putting them in the cages while we were cleaning them out. There was a white kitten that had only a like about 10 black strands of fur on its head and a black kitten that had some white strands of fur on it's feet. I think these two were the cutest. With two ginger and white kittens coming in second. Our shift went from 8:00 to 12:00. I wasn't allowed into the adoption area because we had worked in the hospital area. Mum was relieved! When we got home we had to change our clothes and have a wash before handling our animals. Next visit is in a fortnight. I'll keep you posted about the black and white kittens :)

Homework tasks 1&2, (E3/A8) 'The Exhibition!'
Bedazzled.
On Saturday (16/03/13), Mum and I went to Tauranga art gallery. We visited the Bedazzled exhibition. It had more that 20 costumes & dozens of fantastic drawings on display which were designed for the Royal New Zealand ballet by Petone -born Kristian Fredrikson. There was a dress-up room. These are the things in the dress up room there are wooden book like things and pieces of material and it makes designs. There is also a T.V. playing a show. On the other side of the table (Behind the wall) there is a mirror and hats/masks.
I found it really interesting because I love ballet & costume design. I cant say I had a favorite because they were all so fabulous.

After we had had a look around and left we went to the library. They now have a Justice of the Peace come every Friday between 12 and 2. I got out 3 books one of which I've already read. The three books were 'The complete Peanuts'(This is the one I've read), 'Octopus The Ocean's Intelligent Invertebrate' & Sockology'. Sockology is a book all about how to make stuff from socks.

The Little Tent That Cried.
3 things I leant were, (1) How to export a keynote to quick time to be able to upload it to youtube, (2) That humidity is a measurement of water vapor, (3) I've learnt why when it’s muggy it's hot and humid, (I've always wondered why we can't have a cold muggy day).
2 Good things about working with my partner were, (1) I didn’t know where to start but told me where to start, (2) I didn’t slack off wanting the work load to be even.
1 Difficulty that I overcame was learning how to up load it to youtube.

My First Month at T.I.S as a Year 8
In my first month as a year 8 I have had so much fun. I'm in class with my friends, Maia & Paris. I've seen so many year 7's that I know. I like the hard maths that is so fun with √square rooting√, PYTHAGORAS THEORUM is really fun & I can complete the 12X12 maths grid. :) We've been doing lots of writing and reading I've already read three books. I like writing (As long as theres spell check...) We have homework tasks that we can pick we have to do ten I've already started one. I'm also in young designers with Miss Young. I've also auditioned for the production and I'm in the dancing. Were also doing sport and fitness. For sport we have been divided into 8 groups. I'm in group 6. We do a skills session for the sport and then we play the game using the skills we learn't. For fitness we do either running, Kenpo Or Zumba. I don't enjoy these yet but thats because I still go to phyiso to strengthen my muscles and I'm growing so I hurt. But once I get these things sorted I will probably enjoy it a bit more. I'm also doing Saxophone Witch is really fun. That Is My first month as a year 8 I hope the rest of the year is like this.
