Watership Down.
Although I read this long ago, I still sorta remember it. It was a fantastic tale, regarding a warren of bunnies, who escape being killed by humans. It is a very good book, with in depth characters. The description of the characters and their surroundings was was great.
Written by Richard Adams and published by Rex Collings Ltd of London in 1972.
Watership Down was Richard Adams first novel. It is at the moment his most successful novel. It has won the Carnegie Medal & Guardian Prize, and more.
Fiver who is a young runt, is also a seer & sees the future of his warrens destruction. With Hazel his brother, they try to convince the chief rabbit. When that doesn't work they set off with a small band, narrowly missing the warrens military.
It is a gripping tale, that I would rate a 5/5. I would recommend it for years 12 and up, as it does contain some violence, but other than that it would be a book for everybody. Not just girls as the rabbits turn more into people than just rabbits.
